Previous Events
Events are at the core of our mission. Through community gatherings, we are focused on revitalizing and encouraging our neighbors to embrace health and wellness activities.
When people gather together, amazing things can happen — from building thriving gardens, forging new connections, reminiscing on past memories, and transforming an empty room into an inhabitable space.
Earth Day 2024
On Earth Day, over 100 volunteers joined us to invest in the Near Northwest Neighborhood by planting herbs, weeding, installing mulch beds, and painting. Many groups supported our efforts on Earth Day including the IU Health Foundation, Herron-Riverside High School, Nine13 Sports, Marion County Public Health Department, Butler University, and Liberty Grove Schools.
Grand Opening 2024
The doors to Aspire House opened to the public on February 8, 2024. This commemoration welcomed neighbors, funders, friends, and family under one roof to celebrate the past and look ahead to the future.
Lowes Day 2023
On October 24th, employees from 10 Indiana Lowe’s stores helped with several projects around the firehouse. Special thank you to the Lowe’s employees from Richmond, Castleton, Lafayette, Muncie, Michigan Road, Glendale, Marion, Anderson, Zionsville, Noblesville, the Lowe’s Contact Center, and the Installation Support Team. Thank you to Butler Softball and Baseball for volunteering too.
Fall Fest 2023
On October 14, 2023, the Aspire Higher Foundation, DIP IN, and the Northwest Landing Neighborhood Association celebrated the 101st anniversary of Frank Young Park, a pocket park located at the crossroads of Rader and Udell. All who attended enjoyed sweet potato pie, snickerdoodle cookies, zucchini bread, and other delicious baked goods along with warm soups and chilis. We played pickleball, skated, and biked along to music from DJ Mama Mia. Indianapolis mayor, Joe Hogsett, made a special appearance as well.
Indy Street Fest 2023
From July 14-16, 2023, we held a first-of-its-kind event in Tarkington Park. On Friday, Toy Factory kicked off the weekend with a live performance. On Saturday, we held several sports clinics for kids to try, including rugby, lacrosse, pickleball, roller skating, and street hockey. That evening, we watched the Super Mario Bros movie in the park and enjoyed a community bike ride the following day. Overall, the weekend was packed with activities.
