Community Gardens
Edible Gardens
We are repurposing vacant lots in our community into reliable sources of healthy food. By growing accessible herbs, vegetables, and fruit, we sustain life in the Near Northwest Neighborhood, an area classified as a food desert.

Chefs’ Garden
Herbs are used to spice up the dishes cooked by community members in our RyZe Kitchen classes.

Fungal Garden
We are repurposing tree stumps to grow edible mushrooms and provide substantial sources of nutrition for our neighbors.

Vegetable Garden
Our garden plots are abounding with fresh veggies! There are plenty of cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and squash to go around!

Community Orchard
The Northwest Landing Neighborhood Association was awarded a Tree Canopy and Workforce Community grant by Faith in Place. Together, the Aspire Higher Foundation and Community Canopy Alliance will join this partnership to plant 75 fruit trees and bushes in the community.
We envision accessible plots of land lined with trees and bushes bearing apples, peaches, pecans, elderberries, raspberries, cherries, and more.
Floral Gardens
Our floral gardens brighten up the neighborhood with their vibrant colors, sweet scents, and bumbling bees. We now have gardens adorned with roses, sunflowers, and even a smiley face!
